Mature Capacity
Genesis 47:13-27

  1. A capacity to feed
By now you should have been teachers, but once again you need to be taught the simplest thin about what God has said. You need milk instead of solid food. People who live on milk are like babies who don't really know what is right. Solid food is for mature people who have been trained to know right from wrong. (Hebrews 5:12-14)
  1. A capacity to take inventory
Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? - unless indeed you are disqualified. But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified. (2 Corinthians 13:5-6)
  1. A capacity to forget
And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord: "For he is good, for His mercy endures forever toward Israel." Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid. (Ezra 3:11)
  1. A Capacity to invest
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. (Matthew 6:19-20)
  1. A capacity to restore
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, my great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. and My people shall never be put to shame. (Joel 2:25-26)
  1. A capacity to grow
Then he said "What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? "It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; nand it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches." (Luke 13:18-19)
